Crashing!

I love the purpose of this app, I also have pro audio convertor and I feel this is the perfect companion app. I just have a problem: everytime i try to write and save metadata from the online sources, the app keeps crashing. What do I do???

Yosemite Support

Does not work after the Yosemite Update. Please fix this. Before that, this was working as desired. Easy to Use and runs without too much resources.

Good app but lacking good file renaming

Purchased this app hopping to replace TagScanner for Windows. This app is very fast and intuitive to use. If the correct information is in the tags the file renaming feature is very fast. My biggest complain is very weak file renaming prior to fixing tags. When tag information is missing but the information is in the filename mixed with a lot of -, _, ( ), 01, disc, and other useless information Metadatics has NO way of cleaning up the file name so you can extract the tag information. Fortunatley I have Adobe Bridge which has an excellent batch file renaming feature.

For people who wished Mp3tag would port over to OSX

If you were formerly an Mp3tag user (on Windows) and having switched to Mac OSX youre looking for something comparable, this is it. For a couple years after switching over to Mac, I kept a Windows 7 VM running solely for Mp3tag. Im a stickler for keeping my mp3 tags organized, and with a library of over 20k songs, believe me when I say Im constantly cleaning things up. I love my Mac, but I couldnt go long without my beloved Mp3tag app to help me out. Then I found Matadatics. Since then, Ive abandoned my Windows VM and Mp3tag and have relied solely on this app. The developer has pushed out updates quickly to coincide with OS updates, and the it has all the functionality I need. Does it do absolutely everything Mp3tag did? Probably not. But it has the main features I need. Batch editing, file-to-tag functions, track sequencing. Im gtg!

7000+ MP3 files quarantined due to Metadatics

I have 7000+ MP3 files that were all quarantined (extended attribute com.apple.quarantine added to each file) by Metadatics. I see from the release notes that this was a bug that was fixed but it has created a 43GB mess for me.

My Mac tag editor search is over!

Finally, I’ve found a tag editor for Mac that’s as powerful as Mp3tag! The majority of tag editors for Mac are very basic, offering about as much tag editing functionality as stock iTunes… sometimes less. This one is very powerful, but also pretty easy to work with… maybe even easier than Mp3tag. So overall, great app! If you need a tag editor, this is the one to get.

Built for large diverse libraries

Thankyou Mark-V. A easy to use reliable multi-format (including dsf), multi-file editing program for OSX. The artwork and meta data finder (musicbrains) are well integrated in a intuitive way.Could not ask for more.

Easy to use, lots of functionality

I use this software to edit tag information for music files outside of iTunes. The program is super easy to use and has lots of great functionality. I can edit cover art, a full range of tag information, edit multiple files at once (or one at a time), etc. I recommend it.

does NOT work!!!

App will not connect to musicbrainz Error message appeares: Fetch error: 503 Service Unavailable. Tried on numerous songs. Nothing!!! App will not work properly. I want a refund.

Powerful, and feature rich

I’m a collector of Grateful Dead shows and it takes a lot of work to organize and rename files to keep the structure clean. This application does everything I need. The submenu with renaming functionality is amazing. You can rename files and even folders based on ID3tags. I e-mailed the developer for help on a workflow and he responded right away with a procedure and workaround for my needs.

Incredibly great app and incredibly great support

The best tagger for Mac by a long shot. Great integration with online sources for tags. Completely top notch in terms of usability, interface, functionality. I just had my mind blown on an email I sent to the developer - a stupid question on my part. Anyway I emailed on a Sunday afternoon here in the USA because that’s when I was using the app. I certainly didn’t expect a response until next week sometime. Less than ten minutes later up pops an email from the developer with the exact answer to my question - friendly and to the point. And of course the correct answer :) Wow. I just can’t recommend this software highly enough, if you are reading these reviews you need this download!

Can’t say enough for this app

I tell you what, if you have to handle files of varying origins and get them all into some kind of uniform tagging protocol, look no farther, this is the only app for you. And don’t miss out on the functions that automate things like track number tagging. Way better than anything else, especially iTunes.

Ridiculously useful for DJs

As a DJ who cares about getting my meta-data right, I love this app. Mark has thoguth of just about every feature I coudl want, especilly the smartest artwork seach I haev found not to mention finding tags taht I didnt knwo where there and heping me tidy them up (such as multipel version of Key, PUBLISHER vs. publisher, etc). He also fixed a big within a short time of me posting it, which is the sign of a gret developer. If you’ve got a big colleciton (i hjave 15,000+ tracks) you need ot knw that it struggles to ingest somethign that large in one hit, so you ned ot be patietn working through your library - but it’s worth it (hint: Mark, adding suport for larger libraries would be awesome ;-)
